Louis Jones Reminds Us to "Do Better"

Today - Martin Luther King Jr. Day -  Louis Jones, Brand Safety Officer in Residence, reminds us that "brand safety is about human safety".

As we remember and celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., the advertising community should all be taking time to reflect upon the past 18 months, what has transpired, and how we might repair our ills.

Brand Safety is about Human Safety - not only in avoiding harmful content, but also in being purposely reflective of the composition of our nation and the world (Diversity), AND purposely Inclusive - making our work and workplaces supportive of diverse personas and voices.

Many companies pledged to "do better" with regard to diversity, equity, and inclusion in 2021... today should prompt us to revisit our commitments - and refocus our efforts in 2022. The pursuit of equality, in all its forms, requires that we all do our part....

I am resharing the conversation on Diversity & Inclusion as part of the #BrandSafetyInstitute series #BrandSafetyEvolves. Thank you Charles Cantu and Dilip Shukla for your great perspectives on how to move forward as an industry! God Bless & may the spirit of MLK give you wings to your purpose.
